Our task was to create a 5 shot sequence to show how lighting set ups represented the character in different ways. In our sequence the character is seen with a broom and moves it from one hand to another. This is shown through
In our first 5 shot sequence we used key and fill lighting to create a realistic lighting and a neutral mood. The character in the scene is represented as happy because the lighting is natural.
In our second 5 shot sequence we used the same lighting but when it was a close up of the character we used under lighting to make the character look more mysterious and wicked as if they were planning something.
I think our setup worked well because it portrayed how the use of lighting affects a scene. For example, the first sequence the character seemed like a man who was just smiling but in the second shot he looks creepy and sinister.
I think we could improve our lighting by controlling the lighting in the room by making sure there was no other lighting in the room from other groups and outside light.
Through completing this task I have learnt the importance of different lighting to portray a certain mood.
