Hi my name is Esmeralda Smith. I am 17 years old and female. I am single and a heterosexual. I am of Cuban and Spanish heritage. I live in the South East of England in South East London. My parents are grade D and C1 in the NRS Social Group grading system. This makes me lower middle class as I fall in between the two. In my free time I go out shopping and to parties with my friends on the weekend. I spend most of my money on these activities. I also like to go out for meals with my friends sometimes. Some of my hobbies also include making music, playing computer games and playing football. I used to be very athletic and be on my school football team but it is no longer one of my main hobbies.
Personally I like seeing graffiti murals and artwork and I view it as art. However, I do not like tagging graffiti on train tracks and walls as I feel it looks tacky. I find that this topic is interesting, especially to the target age range, as it is something that directly affects them as they see it everyday. I also like the idea that it will be heavily visual as this reflects the theme and topic due to it being an art topic. I would expect to see graffiti as both art and vandalism in a documentary of this kind as it should be showing both the good and bad of the topic.
In my house there are 3 TV’s. One in my sister and I’s room, one in my parents’ room and one in my living room. In my house there are two laptops; my parents and mine. My parents pay for the television through Sky network. In the past seven days I have watched a variety of television shows ranging between reality TV, news, comedy programmes and animation shows. Within these 7 days I have spent about 21 hours watching TV. These hours tend to be spent watching TV between 9 – 11 o’clock after I have eaten and before I go to bed. Sometimes my family watch television together after everyone has eaten but this varies as sometimes my parents are still at work. However, I mainly watch TV on my own or with my little brother and sister.
